AI Solutions Director

We’re looking for an AI Solutions Director to join a growing technology consultancy delivering complex digital transformation and AI-enabled programmes across public sector and regulated environments.

This is a highly influential leadership role for someone who can bridge solution architecture, AI strategy and delivery execution. You’ll work closely with client stakeholders, architects, delivery teams and product leaders to ensure AI solutions are practical, responsible and capable of delivering measurable business outcomes while operating within governance, policy and assurance frameworks.

The successful candidate will bring a strong blend of technical leadership, stakeholder management and consulting expertise, helping organisations adopt and scale AI technologies safely and effectively. You’ll play a key role in shaping AI solution approaches, guiding implementation decisions and supporting clients through the opportunities and challenges associated with AI-enabled transformation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of technology, governance and business strategy, influencing senior stakeholders and helping organisations navigate the evolving AI landscape within complex and highly regulated environments.

Skills Required

• Proven background in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture or Technical Leadership
• Demonstrable experience designing and delivering AI-enabled solutions within production environments
• Experience working within government, public sector or highly regulated organisations
• Strong understanding of governance, assurance, compliance, risk management and policy frameworks
• Hands-on experience with AI platforms and agent ecosystems such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, LangChain or equivalent technologies
• Strong understanding of agent-based architectures, AI orchestration and integration patterns
• Experience evaluating AI systems for quality, safety, performance and operational effectiveness
• Ability to translate governance and risk requirements into practical technology delivery decisions
• Strong understanding of modern solution architecture principles and enterprise technology landscapes
• Experience supporting AI adoption and digital transformation programmes
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong consulting and advisory skills with experience influencing senior stakeholders
• Product-focused mindset with an emphasis on user, operational and business outcomes
• Experience influencing teams and driving change without direct authority
• Comfortable operating within fast-moving and evolving technology environments
• Strong facilitation, workshop and executive engagement capabilities
• Ability to balance innovation with security, governance and operational requirements
 

Ideal Background

• Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or Technical Lead with hands-on AI delivery experience
• Experience delivering significant government or public sector transformation programmes
• Strong knowledge of AI agent frameworks and real-world implementation challenges
• Experience working with complex stakeholder groups across technology, operations and business functions
• A collaborative leadership style focused on building trust and credibility
• Equally comfortable discussing architecture, governance, risk and business strategy
• Existing networks within government, public sector or digital transformation communities would be advantageous
• Experience helping organisations move from AI experimentation to scalable production adoption
